WHO ARE
YOU?
Pick what describes you best. Each choice explains how you can be involved, and the team replies by email.
Schools and teachers
Ask the team for a session with your class about the eclipse, how to watch it without damaging your eyes, and how the observation network works. 2 August 2027 falls in the Moroccan school holidays, so tell us when in the school year a session would suit you.
For your class now: the printable safety sheet and the eclipse explained.
Volunteers
NATE’s telescopes are operated by scientists, volunteers, teachers, secondary-school students and university students. The team trains everyone before eclipse day, in observing technique and in running public activities.
Volunteering goes through a short form run by the team.
The form opens in a new tab on Google Forms.
Partners and sponsors
NATE is led by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and the U.S. NSF National Solar Observatory (NSO), with the support of the Government of the Canary Islands (ACIISI).
In Morocco the deployment is organised by UM6P, and the IAC funds and supplies the telescope stations. Sponsors support the deployment itself: lodging and transport for the field team, materials for the public activities, and the SpaceBus.
- Seven community hubs along the coast of northern Morocco, each one an observing station and a public activity point.
- A field team of 25 to 30 people, trained beforehand by UM6P and the IAC.
- Co-branded recognition at the hubs, on the SpaceBus and in printed material, and a report after the eclipse.
- Financial support, or contributions in kind: lodging, transport, vehicles, printed material.
The full prospectus, with the detailed budget and the levels of support, is sent on request: ask for it in the form.
Journalists and media
The media kit is sent by email to journalists and media who request it, so the team knows where the material is published. Choose “Media kit” in the form below, or use the button.
What the kit contains: [TO BE CONFIRMED]. Press contact: [TO BE CONFIRMED]
Ask the team
For everyone: a question, information, an interview, images, a visit to a station or, for journalists and media, the media kit.
